Jungle Doctor

Dr Sabine lived at Mu Aye Pu. Tribal Action Group filmed her there as KNDO Jungle Doctor.

What is public is a short film series, not a biography. Episode one introduces a doctor who has gone bush in Karen State: medicine in the hills, a household, a life beside KNDO country. Later episodes are shot at Mu Aye Pu itself. She is named on screen as Dr Sabine. The films call her Jungle Doctor.

Episode two, The Bears of Mu Aye Pu (2018), shows the village in a community partnership around two Asiatic black bears taken in after poaching. Episode three, Caves and Bears (2019), is still at the village: forest, caves, the same care. The films are Tribal Action Group’s. They are not this site’s, and they are not a species survey. They show a doctor living here, practising, and a village treating wildlife as shared labour. A small cafe later took the animals’ name, 2 Bears Cafe. It once operated. It is not a booking now. The bears, and visit.

Names of children and clinic details are not published. See people of the village, landscape ecology, and rangers.
